American Seating opens exhibit at Grand Rapids Museum, WJRW News Talk 1340 AM
Founded in 1886, the company was first called the Grand Rapids School Furniture Company. Over time, the company expanded into seating for the performing arts, sporting events and transit. Radio City Music Hall, Michigan Stadium and Comerica Park have all used American Seating products.
“We’ve been on the same campus since 1886, and the original factory is still in tact, so we have quite a lot in the vault,” says Deb McDermott with American Seating.
The American Seating exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum continues through the rest of the year.
